Volunteering is a great way to give back to the community!
Take the opportunity to support an organization that is providing primary healthcare services to thousands of our medically underserved neighbors.
Mr. Montgomery has volunteered with Lone Star Circle of Care for five years. He continues to volunteer because, “everybody ought to have quality affordable healthcare. Volunteering here is a way to help with that.” He went on to say, “I think that I make a real contribution by volunteering here. I also think that it can be inspirational to the workforce to see that somebody will come in and do this work for free.”
Mr. Montgomery was the recipient of the 2007 "Outstanding Volunteer" award for his years of service to Lone Star Circle of Care's clinics.
There are a number of ways that you can help:
- PATIENT ADVOCATEprovide information and assistance to patients in the waiting room before or after an appointment.
- STORY TIME READERspend some time reading to groups of pediatric patients while they wait for their appointment.
- SPECIAL EVENTSassist with arts and crafts projects with patients in the waiting room. You can also help Lone Star Circle of Care during health fairs and other interactive special events.
- ADMINISTRATIVE HELPvolunteers are needed to compile and organize patient charts, compile information packets for patients, and other administrative duties so clinic staff can focus on meeting the immediate needs of patients.
- PAINTING--on occasion, we need to update our clinics with new paint.
These needs are continuous, so don't hesitate to contact us.
