Lone Star Circle of Care is a federally qualified Community Health Center (CHC) and a nonprofit organization whose goal is to serve as a health care “safety net” for Central Texas. By providing a healthcare home for the uninsured and underinsured, CHCs increase access to health care and improve the health of the population.
There are about 1,200 Community Health Centers in the United States today. Although CHCs receive some grant opportunities and benefits from the federal government, they are charged with maintaining their own sustainability while continuing to meet all federal requirements for community health centers.
